GFL was established in 1994 and operates from the distinguished western suburb of Nedlands, ten kilometres from the centre of Perth. There are a number of divisions including an exhibition gallery that remains in Nedlands and storage and framing departments, which are located in the industrial suburb of Welshpool, once again around ten kilometres (from the east) of Perth. The online art gallery is also based in Welshpool, as this is where most of the pictures are located and packing facilities are readily available.

In Western Australia companies involved in auctioning are regulated and have to have a licensed operative on staff - all other states excepting Queensland have been deregulated.

Live Major Auctions are held twice a year and viewed at the Nedlands gallery then transported to the prestigious Hyatt Hotel in Perth for auction. Live Affordable Art auctions are held four times annually at the Welshpool complex - both types of auction have illustrated catalogues online.

"Big enough to matter small enough to care" is a slogan that best describes our company. It's a serious slogan and everyone within the business ensures that the standard we set ourselves is never compromised. It's a slogan that should only be applied to a family business and GFL is a family business

Big enough to matter - Some of the masterworks of Australian painting pass through our hands and sell to our clients locally, nationally and internationally.

Small enough to care - With GFL an artwork never just becomes a portion of the critical mass. We believe it is important that a work never gets slotted into an auction when clearly an auction is not the best method of sale. We also believe it is important that a work is never sold privately when clearly the best method of sale is by auction. We care about each piece whether it is a work valued at less than $200 or one carrying a price tag of $200,000 and above. All our clients are advised personally about the correct method of sale.

Overall it is a slogan we take seriously as it is a pledge that the level of customer care and quality of stock will never be compromised.
